Thanks to both Matt and "Hired arm" for your comments...actually I was on the Galveston Ferry last night and got a few snaps...one of a Tanker and Tug Boat and another of the "buoys" at the Bolivar end of the ferry line. again, while nothing particularly special or unusual, it's good to be tripping the shutter! If you want more nature type shots they're all around - you just have to drive a little bit. You get better nature shots towards the Hill Country (Austin/ San Antonio area) and the Big Thicket (East Texas Forests) though.

Thank you both. Have used this lens quite a bit over the last couple of days, and it's quite a performer!

A couple more, then I'll shut up and let someone else post

Beauties all, Mike. This one in particular.

I agree that the VC 75/2.5 Color-Heliar is a stellar performer, and very much under appreciated. I think if it sold for $2000 rather that under $500, more people would take it seriously. For my money, it's a no-brainer. The lens has been discontinued by Voigtlander, and replaced by an M-mount f1.8 lens, which still sells for under $500US. I haven't tried the new version, which I understand has been optimized for portraiture, but the f2,5 version is a gem.

Thanks Ton....actually the lights in the background are the texas City area. Several years ago about that time in the evening I was taking some shots, from public property, of the "lights" at the Texas City refinery. The sunset light was really incredible on the smoke from the refinery. Long story, but I was stopped and held by Texas City Police, FBI came and made me delete all my digital files. I have a commentary about all this on my web site. So much for photographers so called rights.! eleanor

I used to be a dedicated Leica user - a brace of R4s and and an M4 - but moved on to MF and then MFDB. But I recently got so blown away by the image quality of the X1 that I decided to give the M9 a try. Here are a couple with the 35 'lux ASPH.

    Hey Everyone,
These are my 1st posts anywhere. These were some street scenes I shot in NYC with an M9 and 50 Summilux 1.4. I would appreciate all comments and criticisms as that is the only way I can learn. In fact, I am so new to this I probably didnt upload these correctly from my SmugMug account. Thanks Cary

First off Cary, welcome to the forum. I think you'll find this a great place to spend some time. It's a mutual inspiration association.

Second, very nice images. I particularly like the 2nd and 4th shots. Good stuff.

Again, welcome, and let's see MORE!!
