1.0 vs 1.1

Just curious, how much difference in there in terms of shooting in dim situations?

I remember there was a formula somewhere that gave the amount of light entering at 1.0 vs 1.1 ---

On a practical level though, how big is the difference?

Thank you

Perceptible but not huge. I've had Noctis since the f/1.2, but if I got a fast 50 now I'd possibly get the Nokton. The performance is more even than that of the Noctilux, and it's a bit lighter (although not really smaller). Corners don't vignette so much wide open, and the focus shift is not as strong. It doesn't have the distinctive look of the Nocti though.

We're talking about the f/1 here, not the f/0.95. That lens is truly in a class of it's own, but then so is the price.

Thanks Henning -

The look is indeed distinctive. But worth it? Who knows. Personally, depends on the day you ask me.

Also, Im sure a 0.1 stop could be compensated for in post-processing... no?
