My M8 has begun to exhibit a switch malfunction. When I turn it on, nothing seems to happen, no display, no light. It requires a touch of the shutter to bring it to life. It's as if the camera "boots up" in the sleep mode.
I spoke with Leica NJ about it and they said it sounded like a switch contact problem.
I seem to recall someone else describing this problem. Is anyone here aware of it?
UPDATE: Bill Parsons described this problem. He's had it since firmware 1.07, and has decided to live with it as he doesn't want to send his camera away. I've come to the same decision. If it gets worse, I'll do something; otherwise, I can live with it.
