Re: The Very Latest & Greatest Fun w/Digital M Images

Thank you so much for the warm welcome after weeks of absence. It feels like a comeback to one's favorite pub.

Lloyd: Thank you so much. Still trying to cope with work overload.
Photojazz: Yes, the images are a little dark; a little Color EfexPro darkening. I have no idea how that tank got to the sea, nor its function, but found it amusing.
Jono: Thank you very much, the colour version is not as spectacular, methinks.
Joe: Thank you so much, played with the colors a bit.
Dan: Thank you so kindly sir! At last I now know what that tank is for.

I shall repeat; the pace and quality of posting in this thread is overwhelming! I wish I'd retired

    Best,

    Osman

Makes me feel homesick. Until 6 months ago I lived 300 yards from this skating ring.

Ahoy mates! That board shot really is great too, I commented on the other one already.

I can't argue with fashion ladies of NY shots. :-)

    Steve, thanx much.

Dan, your imagination is definitely running away from you! Just a lunchtime photo walk, and getting out to go to work at 7 AM. Lots of shut eye every night, got to have my rest. lol. Burning candle at both ends? I can't even get the [email protected] thing lit. lol.

Retow: Tough duty that! Lovely images of even more lovely subjects.

Ashwin: Excellent abstracts, and that shot of the forest has an amazing depth.

Dan: A lot of memories for me in that view as well. Very nice.

    Thanks Steve!

I am replacing my factory Leica strap today, I hate those ends on it,they won't stay clamped down, then when loose they can scratch camera! Mine has come loose quite a few times in 2 or 3 weeks. New eye hooks coming from BH today, and I will use a neoprene strap I have on hand, like I use on my Nikons. Also adding a Giottos LCD protector.

Nothing really new, so I'm reaching back into the past to find neglected images worth processing.

Here are four from an October trip to New York. Using the 50 lux.

Really like your b/w here, David. Nice shots too, although (and I mean this sincerely), I experience a sort of cognitive dissonance when I see an image from you that isn't wide!

    Thanks Lloyd.

Yeah, I know what you mean. I had the same sort of cognitive dissonance when I was processing them.

Maybe there's a plug-in I could use to convert them to wide-angle shots.

LOL. Yeah, maybe you could use LR3's Lens Correction feature and distort them somehow?

Steve should have been a politician, note how he turned my Joe that's whiter than .... to Joe, excellent use of negative space. Has he got a silver tongue or what? heh :-) Just good fun Joe and Steve. I like the image, just wish the people appeared a little more "engaged" is all. :-)

I got my Neoprene strap on my M9 today using my correct application triangular "hooks", an old time 35mm guy knows what those are. :-) and a National Geographic shoulder strap on my Billingham Hadley, getting ready to go on with the Giottos and the day's mods are done!

Wonderful Black and White photograph! Enjoy the lines and angles, the clouds offer a nice soft background against the rigid stone building, enjoyed the shot.

    Wonderful portraits

I liked each one of them and I loved the colors and rough bokeh produced by your 35 Lux II as well as the contrasting smooth bokeh created with the 50 Lux!

Dan, you find the best views and the best windows to the city. I love how you are putting together a wonderful Seattle portfolio. You do enjoy the sites, and we really do need to hit the pavement together one of these days, M's in hand!

I'm selling all my gear. I can't keep up with the quality here, can I carry your all's cameras and lenses for you? I'll just be a photo sherpa. lol.

Dan, I could tell you, but then as a matter of security, I'd have to... Actually, not really sure, I think maybe brooms and shovels, haha. It's at the skateboard park, maybe it's the door to the judges booth, hmmm, I will have to investigate. IF I don't come back, please send help-----

    Great shots Ashwin and Charles.
