Osman, many thanks! I love this picture, by the way, feels like a moment in time...brilliant capture. I will need to get out to where you live someday soon...

Yes, I live in Savannah, GA. Very unique city. Great historical section and right by the water. My work is actually on an island that has 1 commercial complex and a huge residential neighborhood (about 2,500 homes). Moving to Savannah about a year ago really got me into photography.

Gorgeous set. Many to like, but this one really speaks to me. (And I'm sure that the fact that we have a blizzard outside just now has nothing to do with it! )

Picture of our son Ethan, who will be 1 1/2 years old this month. He really is the reason I got back into photography (and ended up spending way to much on camera gear )
I hope he will cherish this picture years to come as much as I enjoyed capturing it.
Caught the light when he was playing on the kitchen floor and and saw the light on the floor reflected back on his face. My camera was nearby.

I'll try not to repost pictures,

Ceh - Love that low key picture with the man in the cigarette. Deep in thoughts!

Ryan, excellent post throughout! On #1 I immediately though of John Berendt's "Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil", but only good from your pictures! Love the pics of your family and the rest of them too! Keep showing us Savannah!

Osman, another fine picture. Very nice composition and I like how the scene is framed by the silhouettes in the foreground.

Steve (sig284), nice work with the 50Lux. Like the glow on #1 very much.

Steve (shtarka1), excellent set! #3 is really nice. Excellent B&W tones too. SEP2?

RF-Licks - as others have said the commute photo is wonderful. And Ethan on the floor is a winner as well.

Ash - really like the one with the soldier in the center of the frame peeking out at the camera. So many points of view to look "through" in this image.

I was booked in the car today. Car, car, car. Tried to make the best of it by taking the camera along. I'm not sure if this reminds me of that time I broke out of jail, or what it looked like from the rear window of the Delorean just as the lightning struck....

It's nice to get back to this best of all photo threads on the internet. I wouldn't know where to start in terms of thanking individual contributors. I'm in awe of the work posted in the past week or two while I was off cavorting in the MF forum, which is frankly less dynamic that this. Here are my modest contributions. Both posted to my daily blog for March 1. Both with my M9 and my 90mm elmarit.

Woody - Your vision here of shapes and light is great - these are wonderful to look at, and yet so different from the street shots or the landscapes or other types of shots folks have posted. I especially like the first.

My humble contribution to this thread.. Still learning RF.

Building shot was from inside my car while stopped at a red light. I need to go back and redo the shot. all the window stain is visible in the picture...
That's a terrific set of images. Looking forward to more.

Nice shots from the PP Market Dan. These are excellent as well. And I was also struck by that same thing when I was in Dallas earlier this year. For Lease signs everywhere.

Nice shots OttO. These have a classic Leica look. (Very cute subject too.)

Both posted to my daily blog for March 1. Both with my M9 and my 90mm elmarit.

Wow! The composition and shadows on these are excellent! I have the Elmarit-M on the way in the mail...hope I can get results close to this

Great start! I too just got into RF late last year and already want to get rid of my DSLR and jump in all the way! I still have no clue what I'm doing....but it sure is fun. I have found myself taking my camera with me EVERYWHERE...which just wasn't the case with my D700 + 70-200 VRII

I was booked in the car today. Car, car, car. Tried to make the best of it by taking the camera along. I'm not sure if this reminds me of that time I broke out of jail, or what it looked like from the rear window of the Delorean just as the lightning struck....

I haven't been much of a 'street shooter' but am going to try and put forth the effort. Here are some pics of my attempt over the weekend

    Ryan,

I'm sure Savanna is lovely and all that but I can't help feeling you're missing out on all our snow, ice, freezing rain, slush, not to mention mud season which comes next.
But, if it makes you happy....

    Best,

    Mitchell
