anyone else experience a lot of vignetting with the .95 shot wide open?

could it just be from using the built in hood when shooting at .95?

noticed a lot of vignetting in my night shots.

thanks

It won't be due to the built-in hood.

The lens is f/0.95 so of course it is going to vignette, thems the laws of optics. however, you don't do a very good job of quantifying the vignette. it is EXTREMELY unlikely that your copy visibly vignettes more than any other copy unless something is really off about it. If that were the case you'd be seeing serious optical aberrations of much more concern than vignetting.

The best thing to do is shoot a uniform coloured wall, and compare the falloff to the figures on the leica PDF data sheet for the lens freely available on their website.

A Noctilux isn't a perfect lens, its just fast, so as Daniel has said, some vignetting should be expected. Night photography can exaggerate vignetting because you are making your exposures for the lit part of the scene, and often the outer edges have a massive falloff in EV.

sorry for the delay, no filter used. noticed the vignetting in daylight also. not a lot but definitely noticeable. i guess this is normal for this lens.
