MM, 50AA. What I like is that their strides are in sync. Thank you M for never blacking out the scene. :)

I finally got a Monochrom! I'm only 5 years late to the party. This was my first day out with it. There is not much to shoot here this time of year, but I wanted to get acquainted.

Like they say "Better late than never."

Did you get the MM1 or MM2? I found the orange and yellow filters advantageous. Of course a red filter brings out the clouds against a blue sky.

I have plenty of red, orange and yellow filters for the MM in 39 and 46 including Heliopan and B+W left. Also found some 39 ND's too. The green helps bring out the character in old men's faces, but never use it with women!

I got the CCD MM1. I need to get some filters and I need to work on adding more contrast to my post processing.

That is a great MM since after about 20 seconds it will show you a DNG histogram. I found those files reacted very nicely to SEFEX Pro if there is a style in it that works for you.

PM me if you might want some filters at great prices.

Congratulations!

It's nice to see a b/w image these days which is in greyscale. So many, to my eyes, are very harsh and very dark. Perhaps it's the modern idiom, perhaps it's just me, but I don't really like it that much.

Funny thing ... I traded off all of my stuff ... thought the new new X1D would be the new thang but had a chance to demo it ... prior to it shipping from my
dealer. Found it a bit rough ... needs a bit of time for all the bugs to go away .... and it is not a mono ...

So I cancelled my order and returned to the M246 ... guess it is hard to break old habits ... and ways of viewing the world. As I did not see it through
that box.

Just an observation ... Leica does a lot wrong ... S lens program .... dropping the R series ... but they got it so right with the two Monochrom

This was in the middle of a major rain storm ... optical focus ... ISO 4000

Thank you, Robert. I am not a lover of extreme contrast, either. I do think this one has too much middle grey, so I'm going to try to reach a happy medium. This was the first crack at processing a monochrom file. I love how much information and detail there is.

DocMoore: Beautiful photos.

Really wonderful photos here.

I often told my friend Jerome that if I ever bought an M, it would be a MM. Well, I did finally buy my first M, but it is an M9. I really enjoy the M9, but perhaps for that reason, I find myself thinking even more often again about getting a Monochrom. So many of the digital photos I take ultimately end up as B&W prints.
