You mean they're two peas in a pod? I think that's called "love"!

Dave, he's our adopted child of course! I'm kidding, he's just a pea replacement xD I gave Pat the original third pea to keep him company while we're apart, so I use the penguin as a placeholder hold that spot until pea #3 and Patrick come back!

Great shots, Hillary and Patrick. Great to see you both back here. Hillary (or Patrick, since you took the shot), what lens was used for the last pic of Hillary, in BW? I love the BW rendering of that one....hope all's well up north, as it seems that studies have gotten you both to be quite busy.

New look Ashwin....see anything different between the pics?

Old look Ashwin, new glass (well old glass really, lens here is Jupiter 9 85 mm f/2- an old Sonnar design...it's nice to have a 85 sonnar again, though this one isn't as sharp as my old one lol)

    One more...pardon the XE-1...

holy ashwin... those XE-1 shots are so sharp! The lens used was a Canon 35mm f2 Mine had a bit of a coating issue so I had to stop it down to f4... super sharp!

Re: Putting Faces to Names - (i.e. the Selfie thread)

Two of us have been posting here and in the M43 threads lately. The M9 world seems more ego-centric, so I'll post both of us here. First me, picture by daughter Yael with the Olympus E-PL5 w 45/1.8:

then Yael ("Luli") taken with M9, 28 Summicron, f/5.6:

I posted a picture of her (in the M43 forum) on a winter night with what Jono Slack quickly identified as the "Oh no, not again!" expression on her face. This time she is relaxing in a grass hut just completed by her and three littler kids under her firm direction.

    . . . . . not quite a selfie.

Another guest at a friends house on Christmas Day who had not used a rangefinder asked if she could take a photograph with my camera. Not bad . . . . .

Taken with a M6TTL/50 Lux ASPH/HP5, but did use Photoshop and NIK software.

Yes, I am only as young as I imagine myself to be.

And yes, that is my better half who is tripping the shutter.

My wife and I were skiing during a "Lake Effect" snow near Lake Erie. I thought some might enjoy the images. I include pictures of my wife, since she is much more photogenic than I. The second image gives an idea of 1-2in/hr snowfall rate.

Wow Tom...no gray card needed...just look at all that snow to take a white balance off of. .

Your lovely wife looks a lot happer than you do. Does that have anything to do with your worrying how much snow the photographic equipment can take while she's happy to learn you're using the appropriate portrait lens (to take her picture?)...LOL!

This was taken into a lighthouse mirror, hanging on the wall of an antique furniture store. This was so cool, as the result changed heavily with every inch I moved. On top of that standing in front of the mirror and saying something, it created a really nice change of the sound of your voice. Unfortunately the thing had a diameter of 10 feet so there was no chance of taking it home from the other end of the world.

    Cheers,
    Pete

Always fine additions to this thread! :-)

Couple more from the past few days fooling about with the el cheapo Olympus E-PL1 body and my more oddball lenses:

With the Skink pinhole lens, using the f/71 Zone Plate

With my cobbled up Cosmicar 12.5mm f/1.4 TV (C-mount) lens
a faux 'infrared' rendering preset applied and then tweaked

    enjoy!

You know Ashwin, to tone down all that orange, you could have selcted to use the monochrom instead?

What we all really want to know was if she at least impressed with your M9-P?

By the way, out of couriosity, what camera/lens was used to take your photo in the 1st image?

After posting a shot of my wife skiing in a snow storm, here's a more flattering skiing shot helped by better weather. I appear in the sunglasses of course, as does Ashwin above. Despite the improved weather, a flattering shot of me was not possible.

Not a selfie but you can see why I like it.

Hi! I haven't posted anything on GetDPI except in the buy & sell forum, but am a regular lurker here so I thought I'd introduce myself. Photo taken with my MM and a recently acquired Rigid Type 2 (which I purchased after seeing all of Ashwin's wonderful samples taken with this lens on the MM!).

Here's one to scare the kiddies. No, I did not have a Noctilux transplanted into my eye. It's me, just after cataract surgery. Taken with an OM-D, but the lens did say "25mm Summilux" on it.

Here's one taken by a friend of my son. Against the sun.
It's not sharp, it better is , very hard to do with a MF lens for someone who is not used to that.
