    Smile Vladimir and Leica

I became aware of Vladimir from several years ago when a photographer mentioned about him in another site.

"Resale value is for whores." Gotta love that thought.

He was intentionally crude, I think. In any event, he is an artist who cares more about his images- that much is clear.

You look at his camera he obviously had put them to good use, or you can say he had squeezed the maximum value out of his tools. Even if he cannot sell it for good money (LNIB, Mint...etc..etc...) he did not lose out on anything. His work is the best value he can get from his "investment.

He's a colorful street character as well as a noteworthy photographer. If you show up on Market Street with a Leica, he's sure to show you his – and the special jacket pockets he sewed as holsters for them.

Alex Ramos of the SF Leica Store deserves kudos for giving him his first real show.

(PS: As to the monetary value of his cameras, with that much brass they're worth lots more than the Kravitz editions.)

Thanks, Kirk for posting your first hand impressions.

On that resale value (specifically the Kravitz edns), I think that is where what Mike quoted becomes relevant.
