    'SUNRISE AT WEST BEACH'.....
Set the alarm for 5am, get dressed, grab the camera and hop in the car. Three out of four weather apps are forecasting fog so I'm chasin' it! Do you see any fog in this photo taken moments before sunrise? It may not look like the fog I had hoped for but those rays are caused by thin areas of fog. Very cool. I'll take it..

Leica SL camera with 24-90mm lens at 36mm at f9 for 6 seconds with a 6 stop ND filter

Re: Fun with the Leica SL (digital)

Today I found this tiny family of three mushrooms had moved into a planter in my living room:

    Leica SL + Macro-Elmarit-R 60mm + 2x Extender-R
    ISO 200 @ f/19 @ 4.5 sec

The "big" one is only three-quarters of an inch tall.

    enjoy!

Turkey's just a few miles away, the refugees who were arriving at a rate of 100 or more per day at this beach have stopped coming because of deals made at a higher level, but the remains of earlier fortifications and a current military base or two are still evident. I guess money is still very tight, as earthquake damage is taking some time to get cleaned up, and dead machines and unfinished buildings are not hard to find.

I've read of this phenomenon before, where the rocks somehow move across the surface. I've yet to read any convincing explanation beyond 'magic' or 'unicorns'. Anyone?

Re: Some flowers from the Southern Hemisphere

Our local botanical garden has areas representing plants of very different terrains, including South Africa:

    Protea is an obvious example:

and I don't know what this one is, but it also seems happy blooming in December

    and

all three with SL, S120 macro

Re: Fun with the Leica SL (digital)

The leaves show it to be a succulent, but the flowers don't look like anything Google offers for colanchoe. I've got to get into the habit of photographing the signs as well as the flowers. This garden is fairly well labelled, and they have a GIS database in which every identified plant appears in its location on their map. Some labels have pictures, and they may use some of mine where pictures are presently missing. It's at https://jbg.gardenexplorer.org/map.aspx .

'Three Bikes' at the Rowley, MA train station just as the blizzard (Jan 4, 2018) was starting. Not sure what they'll come back to after we get 12-18 inches of snow!

    Vieri,

I love the S+24mm, but you really make that SL+15mm sing. Beautiful!
