Interesting that they publicly display the price per unit, sure big quantity buyers will get huge discounts for sure, but interesting none the less

The socketed PGA package would be a difficult fit for a camera... And the 3W power dissipation needs good airflow. I think these together is why it's marketed as an industrial device. But otherwise it looks perfectly fine - just really power hungry.

The 36x24 area encompasses 40MP, the full size includes the perimeter buffer pixels and the optical black pixels, and the active area of 47MP is a little bigger than 35mm, more specifically 27mm tall. I think most 35mm lenses would cover it perfectly well.

It definitely needs an IR blocking filter for general use.
There are some neat features, like it can do odd-even column HDR.

Looks very easy to interface and use.
