help with backdrop material

I've been using a thin white muslin material for white backdrop shots, but it is time to upgrade.
I love the quality of black duvetyne, but what would be the similar build quality for white backdrop material?

oh. and I am no into backdrop paper.
I need it to be large, for group shots at events.

White velour? anybody have experience with this stuff?
The white muslins I've seen are just so darn thin...
