oh drat. stumbled on a cheap, bargain quality 80 1.9 and bought it.
somebody stop me please. I find all this cheap manual glass too tempting.
will post more pics as soon as I can.

Love the fast 80..... Thanks for the 110 images - funky, but compelling. Another one for the short list...sigh.

This is a very old thread, but here are some Mamiya 110 shots on a Pentax K-5 (effective focal length about 165mm). Bokeh differs somewhat; depends on the contrast as much as anything, I think. All at f2.8.

This is the N version of the 110/2.8 at f/4. With extension tube #1, IIRC.

The in-focus sharpness is excellent and I quite like the falloff and bokeh.

In astro work at f2.8, in terms of aberrations, the 110mm is better than my 80/1.9 wide open, not quite as good as my 80/1.9 at f2.8, and further behind my 200/2.8 APO at f2.8. The field is extraordinarily flat, but there's a little axial chromatic, and coma/oblique spherical off axis - classic fast Planar-type behaviour.
