H3D upgrade path

with H3D, II, MS 31 vs 39MP there are now 5-6 variants in this system. What is the upgrade policy? one BAD thing is that I would imagine there is no market for backs alone, that is, you either trade or sell what you got (eg 31 II) and the get the next (say II 39MS)

what is the tradition al way folks fo it?

The digital back portion is calibrated to the camera body it's delivered with, so no sense in separating.

Victor:

With Hasselblad, there are upgrade paths for all H camera + digital back configurations. This would include:

*any 3rd part digital back with an H1/H2 camera
*any Hasselblad digital back with an H1/H2 camera
*any HXD digital camera kit

In general, if you own an H camera, the H + digital back trade-ins are all pretty good deals, and if you own an older digital (like a P20, iXpress 96C, or Valeo 11), the deals are very, very good.

If you only own an H camera with no digital back, Hasselblad will give $5,000 trade-in value on just the camera (you keep the lens).

If you don't have an H camera, you are best off selling your unit, unless it is a really old digital back. Hasselblad gives $5,000 trade in value on any digital back. So, a P45 or Aptus 75 would obviously not be a candidate for trade in, but an H20 or Leaf Cmost would be a good trade in. Also, some dealers - like PPR - will sometimes give more to you than the manufacturer will in trade, depending on the product.
