Great question ... I'd love it to mean that the rest of back prices will receive an adjustment.

Re: Photokina Coverage by Capture Integration

Given my lens selections these days honestly the p65 is the better choice for me. I am forced into a 35mm lens with the P40 and having the 28/55 gap. The 45mm is the better P40 shooters choice with a 28mm on the wide end. Problem is I wanted the Leaf shutter in the 55mm.

Hoping there maybe a P40+ to P65+ upgrade path that I can afford.

Sitting here doing the lens gap math for P40+ shooters the best choice is 28,45,80 and P65+ shooters it is the 35,55,80. Now having the 28,55 and 80 I painted myself into a corner with having to have the 35mm. Not a bad choice but no getting around buying a 35mm.

Seems to me and I mean this in all honesty the P65 is actually the better setup when it comes to lenses. Now that does not mean the P40+ is a bad choice far from it just makes lens selection more difficult to get the gaps just right

Exactly. No question it kick's the snot out of current Phase pricing, and so likely a change coming soon. That or there is now going to be a "bargain" line and a "pro" line of back offerings from Phase. Might actually explain why this new Leaf back is only available in M mount or V mount... Which of course leads one to believe Phase could have something even bigger in the wings for its "big dog" back...

at least I suspect they will come up with something using the same sensor, if you re-read this:

it's actually "just" a leveling base... you can't turn the camera in vertical orientation with this head.
    still, looks really cool!

80 MP back for "V" series??? IMO, getting reproducible focus will be nearly impossible; I have a hard enough time with my puny 16 MP back.

Lots of tech cameras take V backs, and a rotating sensor would be a convenience on them

    That makes marketing sense...

In addition to focusing, matching the critical variable of image plane/sensor position and to a random "V" body, etc...etc..

All Leaf and Phase One pricing has been tweaked. Please give it a day or two before it is posted as final.

Before Photokina there is a meeting of the Leaf and Phase One Dealers and pricing is established through discussions at those meetings. Therefore even though information like Sensor stats can be disseminated instantly the pricing (especially detailed pricing) cannot be.

Dave any word on timing with regards to lenses when available.

I started saving in my piggy bank and need to know my daily dropping in regard to time to get the proper amount. LOL

Going to be 10 dollars a day or 50 dollars a day and if I get lucky maybe 100 dollars a day.

and ~ €4500,- in Cambo mount. The 32HR is €1000,- more.
Cambo is pointing out the big front lens of the 32HR is so heavy that the shutter may break when carrying the lens in a case/bag. They suggest to wrap the lens in an extra box so that is safely covered on all sides.

Back to our regular programing. I'm really curious if you took this new sensor and put it in the P40, P45 framing what the Mpx count would be. I am assuming it is a 5.4 micron sensor. Just thinking at some point in time this sensor may be used in other backs just as the P65+ was used for the P40+ back

    Schneider 120mm Tilt-Shift Hands On

    - It's much larger than I expected, physically
    - It's much lighter than I expected, weight-wise
    - It's got shockingly few glass elements
    - The mechanics of the lens are some of the best I've felt

It takes the same lithium battery as the digital back. Convenient (in so far as Leaf/Phase owners already own such batteries and the chargers that go with them) and long lasting.

It just also has the option to take AA batteries as a backup option.

Plus built in wireless strobe transmitter which syncs at 1/1600th.

I really believe that this is by far the Best Vertical Grip made by any company!! Sony makes a Kick A%[email protected] Grip as well, but Canon and Nikon, are just okay in comparison..

All right. I'm headed to Denmark tomorrow to tour the Phase One factory and headquarters and then to St. Petersburg to see my artwork on display in the Manege gallery there.

So signing off for now and wishing you a happy Photokina.

Thanks for everyone who followed our news! Keep any questions coming and when we're back home we'll do our best to answer!

The groundglass in the prototype of the sliding back camera is a new one. Looks extremely fine and crisp and the fresnel cutting is somehow special. Will be available as an optional accessory for the WRS, too. Optional as it is significantly more expensive as the regular GG.

    Enjoy your trip to Russia!
