Thumbing through some back issues of View Camera magazine (and sadly finding that laytoncamera.com now links to some page in, what, Russian?) I was thinking about the long tradition in North America - particularly the US - of producing superbly engineered large format view cameras and the like.
In the digital age, 'technical cameras' have (for the most part) become the platform of choice for photographers wanting to use camera movements with a MFDB - but where are the US manufacturers of such platforms? Have I missed them, or have Arca/Alpa/Cambo etc. pretty much got everything sewn up.
Answers on a postcard please to the usual address.
