You can single out trees on the North Rim of Grand Canyon in the background which is roughly 95 miles away! The SK120Asph is that good!

    Kyoto Fall Scenes 2019 #9

These are actually not taken in Kyoto, I drove down couple hours to Obara, Aichi-prefecture near Nagoya.
It is very unusual and first time to witness cherry blossoms in late fall. You can see a mix of fall colors (red and yellow leaves) and cherry blossoms (pink flowers) at the same time.

Too warm so far this winter, not much snow. Fed up, I went out in the rain yesterday. It made the water look almost milky.

    Both images w/ sk150mm.

Wow Greg, that is a blast from the past. That morning, Saturday 8-Apr-2011, was a defining time for me. It was the day we were leaving PODAS. Big wind storm the day before, but two of us decided to get up early and go back to the dunes before leaving knowing the footprints would all be gone. It was still pretty darn windy that morning. I've always wondered who the group was on the upper left dune; note the blowing sand:

The the other guy with me was using his Canon, shooting hundreds of images as the light was changing fast. I was working in molasses, using the technical camera for all of a month or so at that point. I learned a lot about what not to do that morning! I think there is still sand in that bag. But, even with all the grinding sand, I loved using the camera and have never looked back.

Here is how I've changed the image over the years.

The usual suspects. 60xl, 2-image stitch 18mm each way. I am still shooting the 60xl with LCC's and CF. There is a bit of falloff without an LCC on the 4150. I should probably try ditching the CF but not the LCC.

Thank you, Philip. I've been wondering if it is too magenta, so I went back and looked. When hovering around the ice, A channel in Lab ranges from 0-1, so not too bad. I was surprised at how few develop movements I made! I do like the way the desaturation slider works in C1. This was a mild ice storm, and it was those muted colors that attracted me in the first place. I'm glad it communicates that traquility.

I really like how the 4150 deals with overcast color.

    Hi Dave

It's nice to see the work flow, the image really conveys that winter feeling (I grew up in Michigan). Isn't it nice when you get home and see what you captured, and it just sorta tells you what to do it, when you look at it on the screen?

    Best

    Phil,

Even tho I use my CFV-50c more due to its Live View, I do appreciate the P45 files. Both backs produce great results, but I honestly do not use the P45 enough.

Will report back, Dave. She is going to his new location in Fairfield, CA. I figure it may be a while since it is so close to his new move, but we’ll see. It’s not like I do not have any cameras to shoot with.

Thank you, Greg. It was more of a test, forcing a pano when maybe it wasn't the best choice. As you might imagine, I fumbled around quite a bit. Using rise/fall while shooting a pano is so foreign to me I almost forgot to do it! Didn't matter much in this case, but a good test regardless. Setting up may have been even easier than with the STC because of how I have things arranged in the bag. The little things make a difference to me. For example, the back sits with the 17mm mounted. If I need it (like I did here), I just take the cover off. If I don't need it (60xl), then I just separate the 17mm adapter from the back and mount it. I used to have to take the 17mm out of a soft bag, remove the back, add in the 17mm and replace the back.

To answer your question, so far so good despite my re-learning process after almost a decade of doing the same thing. I think the 12+ will eventually make me more creative. That's what it is all about, eh?

I think he's up and running... sorry to hear your news. Perhaps necessity is truly the mother of invention, and you'll find inspiration in older gear....it will all work out!

Stunning colors! Really nice shot. Did you correct the fisheye in post, or is it not visible due to crop factor?

Thanks & Noooooo, it is such a lovely cam. Bought new by me, actually it was a 50th birthday gift for my mom (she is 74 this year), but she never liked the viewfinder so I 'stole' it back within months.
