Just ran across this article about Green Hills Software, the largest independent vendor of embedded software solutions, has announced that its compilers, Green Hills Probe and MULTI® integrated development environment (IDE) have been used by Phase One in their new IQ series.

Very cool to get a glimpse behind the scenes and that is a news story on MSNBC.

Enjoy.

I know Dan O'Dowd from National Semiconductor days.
The technology arose out of the need to support multiple microprocessors with one tools set. This was done through separating the compiler front end and final code emission back ends and using an intermediate representation that could be used for optimization, code emission, and debugging tool support. We used the technology for a number of projects and ultimately sold a version of it to Siemens.
