Leaf sync cable for mechanical shutter

I'm looking for a cable to sync a Leaf back with a mechanical shutter, after doing the searches I either want Leaf Part 216-00026 or 216-00126 as per this:

Phase One 2129

Peartree in the UK sell them:

Leaf Camera-to-Back Sync cable - long (for Large Format)

... but want GBP21 to ship overseas which is expensive for just a small padded envelope!

Other US dealers dont want to ship accessories overseas, but I also found this bit of info on the Alpa site regarding a standard flash sync cable that works:

ALPA of Switzerland - Manufacturers of remarkable cameras - How do I synchronize my Leaf back with the ALPA?

Does anyone have any experience with this and can confirm it works?

If so a flash sync cable would be a much cheaper and readily available option, and I could get these guys to make a custom one with a nice and short length of cable - does anyone know which is the correct plugs to use?
