Mamiya Announces New Medium Format Digital Camera System

As a Mamiya user, I saw this announcement this morning. Looks to be a partnering with Leaf. Wonder if Phase One is angry now that it appears to not be an exclusive deal for AFD III iterations.

Sorry, but it looks like a plain vanilla Mamiya AFD III with a Leaf back attached. What's new about that? The Mamiya body can already accept various backs, including Leaf, and there's nothing in the agreement with Phase One that precludes them from doing that.

I guess we can't use the term Phamiya any more. Press release is, shall we say, over the top considering it's a simple bundle.

Don't know what it says (if anything) about the Phase/Mamiya relationship.

Actually, this is nothing new. MAC Group (Mamiya America Corp) is the US distributor for Mamiya and Leaf...and Profoto, PocketWizard, Sekonic, Tenba, X-Rite, Eizo, Induro....

David - good point. Why they call it a camera system vs a simple bundle, however is another story..
