Hello Paul,
I have a question about my H3D2 31 while using the upcoming HTS. I have heard that my back is not good to use with this set up because of the micro lenses is there any truth to that? Also in Phocus what do you feel is a good starting amount of sharpness to use?
Thank You,
Joseph Ramos

Hi Joseph
All the testing done so far has shown that the H3D31 works just fine with the HTS, in theory many expected some issues but there do not seem to be any (colour casts).
Sharpening is a matter of personal taste but try something like 200 with a radius of 1 as a conservative starting point (assuming you'll do a final sharpen after retouching).

Hey there Paul! Glad to see you could join us, and great to have you aboard as well. They finally decided to let you out of your cage, did they? <Grin>.

Hey Nick-T, did you ever decide to go ahead and buy that Breeze light we were both drooling over?

Hi Paul

As one of the Hassy shooters here (H3DII-39) welcome to you. With all the Phamiya and Sinar reps here it is good to have us represented as well.

Hi Joseph

With the testing done so far, we've had excellent performance with the HTS and H3DII31.

You will also be able to utilize all DAC functions :
Level 1: Chromatic Abberation correction
Level 2: Distortion correction
Level 3: Vignetting correction

There are positioning sensors located within the control knobs of HTS which transfers data to the H camera grip showing degree of tilt, shift and rotation, certain cool factor here, and it is nice to have this important information available in one location for easy viewing.

A big warm welcome Paul.

Glad to have a direct line to correct information here to balance things out.

I'm Hassey all the way ... H3D-II/31, H3D-II/39, H2F, 203FE/CFV.

Please put a bug in someone's ear at Hasselblad for a H series Focal Plane body ;). That shouldn't be that hard to engineer would it?
It'd be great if we could use our existing back ... even if it had to be sent in and fitted to the new camera. Love to hear your thoughts on that possibility or not from a technical POV. If that could happen, it'd also be great if we could use the 200 series lenses on it via an adapter like we can with the Zeiss 500 series lenses.

I agree having Paul here is something the forum members need to get the Hassy viewpoint as well. A very popular MF system and nice to have it supported here
