    Alpa tripod mount?

    Evening

I've read a couple of threads on mounting Alpa bodies, most recent one from September last year.

    http://forum.getdpi.com/forum/medium...ing-plate.html

Is the information still valid, what are people currently using?Novoflex/RRS/Arca?

    Any recommendations greatly appreciated.

    Many thanks

    Mat

    Re: Alpa tripod mount?

In the end I stopped using the small RRS BNC plate and returned to using the RRS MPR-73 on both the bottom and side of my STC. It was perfect on the TC & Max too. The vertical lip ensures that it is absolutely rigid and it is long enough for the head clamp to firmly hold the camera without any fear of movement. The smaller plate never really had enough surface area in the clamp for my liking.

If I use the STC handheld for walking around use then I'll remove the plate from the handgrip side.

    Hi Graham

Thanks for the advice, it's good to learn from the experience of others. I'll check out the MPR-73.

    Cheers

    Mat
