    Digital backs documentation
Firmware updates can be found in the download section at Camera systems and image software.
Update should be performed with the digital back disconnected from the camera, and
    without FireWire or USB connected.
Also make sure you have a newly charged battery in the IQ back.
    1. Download the latest IQ Firmware from the website,
    2. Transfer the .fwr file to an empty compact flash card and insert it into the IQ’s
    compact flash card slot.
    3. Select “Update Firmware” from the
Firmware menu and the IQ back will
    automatically detect and implement the
    update from the card.
    4. After upgrade the digital back will
have to be rebooted, a full reboot is
    performed by removing the battery
from the IQ back, and reinserting it.
If you regret any updates, the “Restore Firmware” option will revert to the factory installed
firmware version. If you experience errors you can use the menu “Dump Log” to transfer
Log information to the CompactFlash card – this log file you can use to send to support for
    further analysis.

If you are an English speaker, have been using Firmware 3.0 and have no issues I would skip this update.

It's really only for foreign language support and support of the Phase One Aerial and Reproduction cameras.

This might have been in a previous update but I wasn't aware of it til this one... The alignment tool is easily calibrated to whatever pitch and roll floats your boat. Very handy for those of us who have discovered the factory settings to be significantly off.

It was interesting to note that at the recent Phase One event in San Francisco that the Phase One techs checked and serviced my gear and that they didn't upgrade the IQ firmware (3.00.19) but they did upgrade my DF body firmware to 1.3.8.

Since we discussed the mirror lock up/freeze issue they mentioned that this DF version is supposed to be better. We'll see ... but my camera seems to be a LOT better at AF focusing which I'm very happy about. (That might just be wishful thinking but it seems real enough for some reason).
