Kipon Contax 645 adapter to Nikon F or Canon EOS

This adapter has been available since early this year and I was wondering if anybody here can share their experience with it. This is a mount adapter with it's own diaphragm while the Contax lens aperture remains open. What effect does this different posittion have on bokeh, rendering, etc? This is a lot cheaper than a Conurus-converted but fully automatic NAM-1 adapter. For the manual focus 120mm APO Makro-Planar, I don't need the automation.

No experience with these adapters...but from an optical design point of view, closing down an iris diaphragm well behind the exit pupil of a lens would normally cause vignetting - the opposite of what you expect to happen when you stop a lens down. You could ask Kipon if they've ray-traced this.
