IQ2 ad hoc WIFI with Ipad Mini

Hi, I tested the adhoc WIFI function on an IQ2 back. It works fine with the regular ipad, but I'm having problem connecting to an ipad mini. My ipad mini is an early version. I was however able to connect the back and the mini via a common wifi router. Anyone experience this issue?

I got an iPad version 1 to work with the IQ260 but it's on an ad hoc connection. I read somewhere that the feast iPad was not fast enough but it seems to work fine. I have not tried the wifi router though
