Two images! It was indeed a mirror in the lake ahead and I stayed a while to both find my position and make several exposures. Actually it took a while before I decided to exclude the sky for example. After a few exposures I threw three tiny stones to get the ripples. However, that made it really difficult to choose in post, because the ripples made it different but at the same time took away the nice, clear, mirror effect. In the end I inverted/mirrored the trees and blended with 'multiply' and decreased opacity overall and especially over the ripples. This made it stand out more, you could say reality was enhanced.

It's difficult to capture the way I saw the scene, but the backlit trees were glowing. This was taken along the Million Dollar Highway.

    Glacial erratic sunrise

The receding tide uncovers the landscape as the ocean shies away from these glacial erratic boulders, leaving them on dry ground for us to portray. Sunrise at Corrie, Isle of Arran, 8 seconds exposure with the Hasselblad X1D, Hasselblad XCD 21mm and Formatt-Hitech Firecrest Ultra filters.

Thank you for viewing, best regards

I'm comparing two systems. Fall color on the Blue Ridge Parkway. GFX 50R 100-200mm, then 645Z, 80-160mm . Slightly different perspectives of the same scene.

Tom, the Fuji looks very rich, but I suspect the 645Z is closer to the actual color and contrast of the scene.

When comparing the two posted images, it appears the 645Z one is brighter (exposed slightly differently?) and thus may account for the Fuji looking "richer" or more saturated. Take a look at the tree trunks. Enjoyed though seeing a comparison of the two.

Tom, approx. where on the Blue Ridge parkway was this taken? Western N.C. or southern Va.? Thanks.

Will. I adjusted each as I would normally. Each is AWB and auto exposure at-0.7 ev. I prefer the Pentax colors and rarely adjust WB or color balance. Fuji has an added a color balance layer, perhaps too much

Sorry if I posted this before. I am missing the New England fall. Trees just turn brown in the mid-west. This is a selection of maple leaves taken from one tree on a single day.

I've always admired people who use film. It shows courage and class. I hope one day I will have my courage back. Still having a lot of films in a freezer.
I look forward to seeing more of your works, especially, with your film projects.

This is the FUN thread, right?

Fun is not a lot of work, at least in my opinion, it is...well... fun! So, what better way than to encourage others to have fun? Maybe some others will create their own holiday fun and post too.

A little playful artistic license, all crafted by "moi"!

    Re: Fun with MF images

I call this one "Suspicion". The bears have been rolling in kelp on the seashore, waiting for freeze-up so they can get out on the ice to hunt seals. Unfortunately, with climate change they are getting out later and the ice melts earlier, curtailing their hunting season.

    Churchill, Manitoba, XF/240 mm.
