Another watch shot from the Greubel Forsey shoot recently. This is the Hand Made 1, a watch which is almost (95%) made by hand. Handwork comes at a price, though...this one hits the scale at CHF 1 million.

Photographed with my Hasselblad H3D39 + HC4/120 Makro. Profoto Compact 600 flash. All ancient gear, still working hard for me in my little studio.

Closeup of a screen from an old rear-projection TV with red, green and blue gelled lights on the other side (see the BTS photo). Taken with a Canon 24mm tilt-shift on a Cambo body using an IQ4150 back. Taken at f/11 with the lens tilted to extend the plane of focus. I really enjoy the extremely close focus capability of the lens.

Lovely images of the river Wear Alan, is this one taken from Low Barns, it looks familiar?
Hi Mark, thanks for the kind remarks! Yes near Low Barns, this one is from just the otherside (West) of the new A68 bridge (all my "Wear" shots are from this area).
    Regards, Alan.

    Cute looking Bushtits

    Fuji GFX 50S + Fujinon GF250mm F4 R LM OIS WR + 1.4X WR TC @ 350 mm (277 mm in 35mm), f/5.6,1/1000 s, ISO 100, showing a quarter of the image.

In the past I have used ball and gimbal heads on tripods. I always felt ball heads were pretty much impossible to adjust precisely. The problem I experienced with gimbal heads were minute adjustments. Couldn't be done by me quickly. As soon as I loosened the horizontal lock, the gimbal would jitter around due to my inadvertent small muscle movements. There got to be a better option.

I found that in a Manfrotto 504HD Video Head on a Robus RC-5570 Vantage Series 3 Carbon Fiber Tripod with 75mm Half Ball.

I used this support for the above image.
    With best regards, K-H.

While I love great vistas and spectacular sunsets / sunrises like the next man, I also love to explore the simplicity of shapes & pastel colours when the occasion arises such as here, on the Tuscan hills. 91 seconds of exposure with my Hasselblad X1D, Hasselblad XCD 90mm and Formatt Hitech Filters Firecrest Ultra.

    Re: Fun with MF images

Today is the 129th anniversary of the opening of the City & South London Railway - the world's first deep-level, tube railway. Most of that railway now forms part of the Northern Line on the London Underground system and still sees heavy use every day. This picture shows Clapham Common station, which opened when the line was extended in 1900 (two world wars ago!).

It is because of the age of the system that there are two still stations like this, where train runs either side of a narrow, island platform. It gets very crowded in busy times. There were other stations like this, but they have been rebuilt with separate, larger spaces for trains in each direction for reasons of safety and comfort. I wonder how much longer this one will survive in this form...

Hand-held shot, taken with Pentax 645Z and 28-45mm f4.5 lens @ 28mm using ISO 6400. It's a composite in order to position the two trains exactly where I wanted them.

River Wear, 2 image h pano.
I have shot this tree a few times over the years but as the river erodes the bank I fear it will not endure much longer. This is probably my favourite, but I will no doubt take more before it goes......

Lovely picture from a lovely park. We were caught there during a tremendous storm when my wife and I were on our honeymoon. Fortunately the campgrounds have excellent cooking and eating shelters. Below is a shot from a more recent trip (645D, 35mm A). Honeymoon was so long ago that the shots are on glass plates

Two ravens on a branch in the Smoky Mountains. I was really fortunate I got this image. I didn't realize the birds were in my shot until I looked up and the flew away. This frame was part of a pano stitch. This is one frame of the six image stitch. I was very fortunate to get the birds, and for the prefect framing as I was shooting across.

When you have only a couple of hours of possible sun light each day, at least you can expect an impressive sunset right?

GFX100 with canon tse 50, hardly any post processing

I got the GFX 100 a couple of months ago. Like the files, but not the UI. Hard to understand why Fuji abandoned the well-proven UI of their ApsC cameras.
A few initial images. Still trying to master the beast.
    All with the 110/2 Fuji.

    Re: Fun with MF image

Reviewing some images on hard drives from a decade ago.this one was taken in Wellfleet Ma during the summer of 2009. This scene of a biker crossing an old wooden bridge was taken from the back door of an art gallery. Many artists spend their summers in this area of Cape Cod and claim the light is extraordinary for painting and photography.

    Kyoto 2019 Fall #1

I stayed in Kyoto Japan from November 5th thru December 4th. Long stay in Kyoto has been my long time bucket list and finally happened.
I didn't bring my camera gears all the time, I finally could soak myself into culture of Kyoto, and needless to mention but truly enjoyed.

Sorry for a bit off seasonal fall pictures but fall colors in Kyoto happens rather late. I will upload more pictures of Kyoto and surrounding sceneries in coming days.

A very peaceful and mild day here in Memphis. Merry Christmas everyone.....

4150, Actus, Schneider 72mm, 8mm Rise. Didn't even have to frame average as the water was like glass.

    Cheers....
