    Re: Fun with MF images

Hi Ray, I am quite impressed with the results I am getting. I like the Across simulation especially, but there are quite a few others if you want to try them. There is a bit of a learning curve but that is mostly just finding out which of the many modules you need to use (not that many tbh). The new V3 is using a new set of rgb modules which seems to give a cleaner workflow (with more to come). I can give you more info if you want to pursue this but there is a good utube channel "Bruce Williams Photography" who goes through the whole workflow.

I played the cello for five years. I was very bad - perhaps because I was holding it upside-down?

    Kyoto Fall Scenes 2019 #16

Kyoto is surrounded by mountains and you don't need to go far to find country scenes, thatched roof houses, shown in here.
Second image is a famous fresh water trout restaurant called Hiranoya 平野屋.

    Kyoto Fall Scenes 2019 #17

Fall colors in Kyoto city became full swing and extremely beautiful in the last week of November.
At the same time, fallen leaves on the ground became very photogenic, especially after rainy night as shown in here, at Koto-in 高桐院 at Daitoku-ji Temple 大徳寺.

    Manarola at sunrise

Manarola, in the Cinque Terre, is a truly spectacular village - especially at sunrise, when the town is asleep and its street are completely empty of people. Can't wait to be back in March! 6 seconds of peace with my Hasselblad X1D, Hasselblad 21mm and my Formatt Hitech Firecrest Ultra filters.

Thank you for viewing, best regards

    Re: Fun with MF images

I am just debating in my mind another trip next winter to this location. Its a balance between what I think might sell as a print vs my enjoyment and satisfaction for the journey with my photography. Lately the journey has been winning out. I have been to this location twice and wonder how much more there is to shoot. This image was taken on my second trip to this location.

    Greg,

Actually I find the soft pink sky to be quite lovely. Glad that you and your new kit appear to be getting along!

Architecture is not my usual subject, and clearly, I am not adept at correcting perspective. This is the last building in which I worked and I like the image. It is a wonderful space. Some HDR which I rarely find appealing, but seems to work here. Full moon behind the clouds and high winds blur the clouds. 645D, 35mm A

I see the Rodenstock 180 made its way into that reserved spot you had in your new backpack quite quickly. Iím glad youíre putting it to good use.

Yes, although this is actually a loaner from Steve and Brad at CI, I do have one on the way. It did require a complete rework on my bag, it would not fit in the spot I had made for it.

Manly Beacon at sunrise. A very pretty morning at Death Valley. 50s, Actus, Rody 90mm S/WS, 10mm shift LR. I shot in Death Valley with both my Sony 7RM4 and 50s using only the Actus with great results. These cameras work extremely well with the Actus. If you look closely you can see a speck on the right hand cliff which is a photographer....

    Cheers,

I was mesmerized by fallen leaves, especially photogenic on the the water but timing was critical, beauty didn't last long.

    Re: Fun with MF images

My grandfather died when I was four, he was only 44, so unfortunately my memory of him is somewhere between faint and imagined. My grandmother lived about 48 years longer, shortly before she died, she gave me this old suit case full of his personal items. I have begun to pull items out to photograph, in particular for my mother, today it was his pipes. I had to get creative, lit these with a small flashlight from Lowes using gaffers tape to make a snoot. This was a series of 6 second exposures blended together.

Tried to make the best of uncooperative weather. I had hired a guide to take me out for a sunrise shoot in Monument Valley only to find we could not go due to heavy fog in the valley, this was my attempt to salvage the morning.

January 27 is the 75th anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz. To recognize this, I have produced a photo essay about Auschwitz.

Ray, thanks for this one. Sometimes I kick myself for letting my CFV-50c go.
