Re: Cottonwood Basin at Sunset

That's the one. Great review. I am trying to decide between the X1D and the Leica SL. Read so much on both I think I have pixels coming out of my ears :)

Very possibly I just have to rent a Leica SL for the weekend and try it out myself.
Thank you Erik, glad you enjoyed it and found it interesting

There is a lot of debate about the SL vs the X1D, to me they are very different cameras with very different purposes; I understand the appeal of both though, so probably the best solution would be getting them both! ;)

You know what? That's my favorite solution! Sadly, the money tap is running low :)

For some strange reason I also want a pair of Protofo B2 heads as well to go with my Leica/Blad camera. I think I need help with my GAS.

Back to regular programming with more images. I was walking on Madison Avenue in NYC Wednesday when I noticed that Barneys has placed a black background behind one of their windows on 61st street while preparing to change a display. I used the reflections from the window for this image

...GAS can't be helped... It's not that you want the Profoto, you NEED them!! :ROTFL:

New Profoto on the horizon ... hold off a little bit ....

Think Acute B 600 with all the B2 goodness.

Or so I am told.

That sounds pretty interesting :D I am not using flash much for my work, I have a couple of Elinchrom Quadra in the Hybrid flavour that do the trick for me. I used to use Profoto in my studio days, they are wonderful flashes and built like a tank - they became overkill for me when I specialised on Landscape, but GAS is always there - I better keep far from the announcements! :ROTFL:

:buggies:

That is interesting. Any of these rumours made it to a blog somewhere for more details or is it something a little bird whispered in your ear? :)

No blog.

My dealer who had a NDA returned from a meeting where the new stuff was demo'ed

He immediately sold off two Acute B II 600s in preparation for acquiring the new.

Disclosed nothing other than he loved what he saw ... and he has passed on the
new B1 and B2s prior to this.

I have not sold my Acute B 600s yet as I have found a source for the lead acid batteries at
$35 per battery and I have four cassettes. I do not do that much strobe work but if the new
units are very compelling I will trade out of these.

I believe the announcement is soon enough that waiting might be in order.
