Decided to compete with the local cell phone paparazzi at the local jail ... not sure I won.

Hasselblad 4116 XCD 90

Actually a very good morning out ... mixed emotions about the venue.

One of Sydney's epic summer storms (following some record-breaking temperatures).

Pentax 645Z with 28-45 f4.5 lens.
While you have had a record breaking heat wave this summer, we at the same time have had record breaking cold temps this winter. Any chance we can all compromise? :)
Awesome shot Ed! I noticed recently where the Pentax DA 25mm was a mainstay of yours, recently your posted shots are from the 28-45? Any particular reason?

Thanks, Dave. You are an observant man! Actually, the change is an unintended byproduct of a life event. Basically, I am in a different job - and it's a role in which it's harder to come and go with large amounts of camera gear. So I have to decide what to bring with me to work... Before, I could have several lenses with me most of the time. With that choice being made, the 28-45 simply offers more options in one bundle. Both lenses are optically good (as previously discussed). There are occasions when I wish I had the 25mm with me, but life's about compromises, right? ;-)

So true, so true. Compromises need to be made not just in life, but even when it comes down to the choices we have to make in photo equipment...what to purchase, what to sell and what to take along when venturing out to shoot... the exact point you were making.

Man, if you had just waited a few more seconds, you could have gotten a picture of the spacecraft as it emerged from the clouds...

(I mean, if we are going for film references...)
Funny you should say that, because moments later I was almost hit by a phaser. Either that or it was a massive lightning strike followed by the strongest winds I have ever experienced!

Aspen trees at the top of a pass. Sorry my title of the image "Aspen Pass" is to literal.

It was very windy at the top of the pass and I had to wait for some time to get a image where the leaves in the foreground were still enough to get a exposure that worked.

Steven

Steve I like it a lot. I’m just struggling to see what it is??

Aspen trees at the top of a pass. Sorry my title of the image is to literal. I call this image Aspen Pass - aspen trees at the top of a pass in Colorado. It was very windy at the top of the pass and I had to wait for some time to get a image where the leaves in the foreground were still enough to get a exposure that worked.

Thanks Neil. I think I need some help with better titles for my images. I tend to be a bit boring and literal with the titles. I tend to not want to bias the buyer when they view my images with some location or some airy fairy connotation that may prevent them from purchasing.

Having been imprisoned for the last few days with seriously crap weather, I escaped out onto the moors
for a few hours today.

Hi, Nick,

Lovely images! Somehow.... it seems to my eyes that the light is different than the light in our neck of the woods. A combination of latitude, time of year, time of day...something, but it has a richness about it. It is completely different here, so you are blessed with the talent to capture it so well! Thanks for sharing and we are now blessed as well.

Another capabilities set, this time with P1 XF/Trichro and the Hasselblad Superachromat 250. The prime pic was shot at ISO800 at .1s and f/11. The rest are 100% crops of that shot. Not bad for a 40+-year-old lens.
