No Dave, I supported the plate vertically against a window on a cloudy grey day and shot on a tripod. I also find the Phase grey plate useful as a diffuser.Bill,

I sincerely hope the bats are not being killed by White-mouth disease. This started in Europe, I think, and somehow reached NY State, from where it has spread throughout the North East, including Ontario where they are now rarely seen. The disease causes them to awake during hibernation, I'm told, when they have no food source, so they starve.Strange that this should come up! Since I live on the coast we are constantly fighting the battle of the no-see-ums and mosquitos. This year hasn't been so bad but a late observation - we have NO bats this year! Usually the twilight sky is filled with them and so far this year absolutely none! Quite odd.
