It's only a few years ago the editor of a known uk photography magazine was escorted from the park by police for using a tripod. I used to live next door to it and never had a problem though. Clearly neither did you :)

Here's a phone picture of the occasion in question. It was the night of a lunar eclipse (though we saw none of that due to cloud). I think this probably answers your tripod question...

If I remember the incident correctly, that was triggered because a jogger complained about being photographed (ironically not on the photographer's main camera, but using a phone during a delay in the main shoot) and called the police when the photographer refused to delete the image. When the police arrived, they supported the photographer in not deleting the phone image but decided to try and end the incident by pointing out that photography with a tripod is only allowed after applying and paying for a permit. This sort of thing is ludicrous and I refuse to be stopped by it.

E.J., What an intrigung shot on so many levels. That bit of moisture makes it look like a fantasy river valley. Gulliver would love this. We’ll done!

The Grotto is a canyon in Western Australia's Kimberley region. Here is a shot looking down into a small ledge on the edge of the canyon presenting a semi abstract view...

The finished image.

The full size image has a lot more detail I think downresing compresses a lot of it to look less textured.

Afternoon!

I had a nice little road trip around Northern Sweden, Finland and Norway this weekend, stunning time of the year here. I spent a night in Tromso, didn't do the view justice at all so will return, but a beautiful town, this early Saturday morning.
