God's Poor

In Henry Wadsworth Longfellow's poem of St. Francis of Assisi the birds were described as God's Poor. We have feeders and a couple of birdhouses in our yard to provide a little for our feathered friends. They, in return, provide us with many lessons about life. Nature is like that.

This birdhouse resides in the Red Maple tree in our front yard. It is couched in the limbs, amidst the colorful Autumnal crescendo we experience each Fall. Today, it is wintery and the tree is bare. But for a time, the bird house is sequestered in a beautiful place.

Just for fun, a whimsical view of our small contribution to our community of God's Poor:

I finally crumbled and got one! A couple from my first trip out today, it handles very nice and the files look good. Just having to calibrate myself to the dof (or lack of) after my m4/3 gear :D

Love this one Alan, congrats!

EJ,

Nice pastels! Crazy good perspective that is disorienting, as it looks like it could easily be a macro abstract! Well done, as usual!!!:):):)

Primrose Hill, London, today - GFX50s+32-64. Even after 9 months, still very weird to have a 'walk-about'
MF camera.

Frosty morning here in the 'burbs... our grass is crunchy, everything is covered in icy frost. It occurs to me this may be as close to a snowfall as we will get this year, given the weather patterns as of late.

This last week I have been daydreaming of a ski trip to the Western North Carolina mountains with the grandkids. The web cams show awesome snow conditions! But it is only a dream.

So, it is almost Christmas now and we seem to have few MF images of snowy scenes and those who have posted some, I appreciate it very much. Of course, most people are sick of the cold weather.

But not me! I have been walking the streets of our neighborhood for a couple of weeks now, with a fully loaded backpack and it has been exhilarating! Not sure about the neighbors. They cross over the street to the other sidewalk when they see me coming, even the runners with their dogs on a leash. The dogs bark at me and I can't wait to strap on the tripod!!!!:):):)

Bail money anyone? :loco:

So, while I slowly get into shape, any shape other than round, show me some snow!!! Much appreciated in advance!!!!
