DIY Mask

I've got a Linhof Technikardan 23 and a Leaf Aptus digital back.

I've just bought the (massively expensive) adaptor plate for the Linhof but obviously the ground glass on the camera is for 6x9 whereas the sensor on the back is 48x36mm.

I would like to make my own mask and wondered what you thought to this plan:

1) Remove the bellows
2) Mount the digital back with a sheet of very clear plastic lens side of the back (I'm thinking of something like an iPad screen protector)
3) Mark the plastic with a permanent marker around the shape of the sensor
4) Remove the marked plastic
5) Insert it between the ground glass and the fresnel

Have I missed anything? Is there a better way? Is it a stupid idea?

Mark if your back has a 48x36mm or 44x33mm sensor you can try using one of these masks I made some years ago, which you can print on a sheet of acetate...they fit onto a 4x5 ground glass but you can cut them smaller I suppose

When you print them DO NOT use any "fit to scale" option on your printer

Hope this helps
