    ALPA HPF Rings on Cambo

    Hi,
have you ever used the ALPA HPF Rings on a Cambo WRS for high precision focusing with a lasermeter? Is this possible?

John Milich (jlm) has done it. There's a thread somewhere talking about it.

As I recall, he had to modify the Cambo mount for clearance, but that may have been only for T/S lenses.

Re: ALPA HPF Rings on Cambo

a few have contacted me to mod their T/S cambo lenses to accept the Alpa rings, but i have declined. too fussy, too expensive. the ring OD has to be machined, so you lose the clamping screw, so i rigged a solution to that; then the tilt knobs need to be extended and their diameter reduced near the ring, requiring an entirely new knob. i got mine to work, and even made it so you can go back to the stock setup. a love labour

if your lenses are not T/S, you should be able to fit the Alpa ring with no mods required
