Retro Fun..[/QUOTE]

Peter,

Love the shot...Ries tripods are my favorite. I use a Gitzo but seems like it vibrates like a musical string instrument for the longest time. My Ries damped in a split second.

The Arca cube looks particularly good atop the Ries.

Here is my setup for "one row panoramas" . It can easily be used by any other of my HASSELBLADS . All you need to do is , to find the nodal point and the angle you have to swivel the camera, to get a 25% overlap of the images .

But I also use my CFV back with my ARCA SWISS 6x9 F-LINE METRIC .
I am also very worried to put the back off and on again , and therefore I have two ARCA SWISS to HASSELBLAD adapter and the ARCA sliding back .
Sorry , I have no image of that gear yet . But it works fine .
The one adapter holds the HASSELBLAD standard screen adapter (3041057) and the RMfx viewer and the other one holds the CFV back .
Its not very handy for outdoor shooting , ok . But if you have time and a good backpack , and if you are willing to carry all that stuff , then it is no problem at all . This is valid for any other sliding back adapter and camera combination .
But it is a 100% fine for studio photography .

That is a very impressive setup Jurgen! Seeing all these pictures of the Arca Swiss Cube.....I'm going to have to start laying the groundwork with my wife.

Agreed! It's a really elegant setup. The image itself is wonderful Peter.

Differences between the Reis and Berlebach tripods?

Is that the Alpa SWA?

Any thoughts Peter, Don or others on differences +/- between the Alpa SWA and the Cambo RS1000?

Gary - if I was starting over with the equipment choices available today..the Sinar Artec is a no brainer - you have shift and tilt as well as focusing screen and sliding back..pretty much everything the landscape / architectural shooter wants ..for outdoor as well as studio use - this is the first technical camera I would be confident of using not only wides - but also longer lenses with.

I am trying to talk myself into buying this set-up and selling 2-3 MF outfits I have been testing over the last year.

Not familiar with the Berlebach tripods - this Ries above I got courtesy of David K, the Cube was bought purely on speculation that it would deliver a more stable platform ( Jack Flesher's review was invaluable ) - and easier calibrated movements - it does.

The Alpa has no shift it is the WA version 'only' originally bought for street shooting because of quiet shutter and ability to shoot at very low shutter speeds - bulk helps even with hand held situations!

The photo was made using a Schneider Xenotar 180/2.8 on Hy6, file processed in eXpose then C1 Pro - then photoshop and a Nix Silverfx layer.

So Peter, did you have another Cube that the Hy6 was on to take this shot? If not why not ? You are the Porn King here.

:ROTFL::ROTFL: ok worth a truthful response...

Sadly Doug, I had to slum it and use my RRS ballhead on a crappy Gitzo 3 series. The Hy6 was not impressed and I am still getting over the guilts - you know how tempremental these cameras can be. Still I have to save my pennies for the arTec and a few Sinarons.:ROTFL:

As usual Jack is correct in his view on equipment that he has used ( and kept) - I highly recommend the Cube - despite its cost. The Ries came via David K - a bargain for me as it was less in cost than the crappy 3 series Gitzos ( by crappy I mean relative stability) - again a superiror piece of equiment fo rmy purposes and the look is a bonus.

If you are interested in the Alpa - send me a note it is like new.

As far as Porn King - I dont have an ambition for that - and there are a few people ahead of me. As far as presentation goes - look at the post previous to mine, look at David k's 350SE on Contax..and anythign Marc W posts! -:)

btw - I make no aapologies for liking sexy looking gear. It is half the fun.:D Also peopel take a lot of trouble to put thei rsystems together - and I have learned a lot from just looking at certain set-ups.

Regards
Pete

Thought it was time to update my setup since a couple things have changed since I got the Cube.

Same camera setup just shot in different settings.

Don,
Love that shade!
where did you find that?
thanks

That's the Flare Buster from B&H. Just got it last night and haven't had a chance to use it yet. I did play with it last night and found I can also use it to hold a Cokin filter in place - works great as a third hand!
