Is there a difference: Phase One 75-150mm and Mamiya 75-150mm

Hello,

is there a difference between the two lenses:
- Phase One AF 75-150mm
and
- Mamiya AF 75-150mm
???

Thank you.

I think that just like the DF+, depending on who you buy it from it may either say Mamiya or Phase One on the tin, but will be the same thing inside.

There is a LS version for phase which has a leaf shutter capable of 1/1600 flash sync. If you're referring to the AF only model (without LS) it's a rebranded Mamiya. You can have a used Mamiya one for significantly less than it's Phase branded counterpart.

Optically, even the LS is the same, numbers of groups and elements, it just has the LS shutter and 2K or 2.5K more in price.

All of them are excellent optics, I have the Mamiya version and it's a great lens.

Heavy however, and rather large.

This lens takes firmware, and to upgrade it, you need to have a dealer or Mamiya to do it. You might be able to upgrade the lens with the grip for the DF/DF+ that has the ability to upgrade the firmware for the DF cameras.

Firmware is important, it will improve things like AF accuracy, communication to the DF or DF+ camera.

Note, there is a post on this site, where the non LS versions are not working with Live View on any of the IQ backs, seems to be an issue with all non LS versions of the lenses, big deal if you have a Iq250,150 or a Credo 50.
