Capture Pilot and Capture One in the Field

Guys, can Capture Pilot be used literally in the field (i.e. no available Wifi network) with a tethered Credo back to a laptop running Capture One? IOW, does communication between Capture One and Capture Pilot require both having access to the same WiFi network? I have a Credo 60 back that I shoot tethered to my laptop and want to know whether I can use my iPad running Capture Pilot for client reviews when I go a location in people's homes without using their network? Assuming they have one.

If some kind of network is required, does anybody know of some highly portable, battery operable Wifi hub that would work?

You can create an ad-hoc network on the laptop and connect the iOS device to it

Awesome. How do you do that? I'm on a Win7 laptop.
