    Full Frame Medium Format Sensors

How much longer will you expect to see the full frame medium format sensors be available whether 6x6 or 6x7?
    ALPA (MAX, STC, TC) | CAMBO (Actus DB2, WRS-AE) | CONTAX | HASSELBLAD | LEICA | DB (CFV-16, CFV-39, IQ180, IQ360, IQ3100, P45+) | Lens (Canon, Fujinon, Leica, Nikon, Pentax, Rodenstock, Schneider, Zeiss)

Re: Full Frame Medium Format Sensors

How many 24x36mm 645-type sensors can fit on a standard 8" wafer?

How many for 6x6 or 6x7 type?

What kind of failure rates exist in the fab and what percentage is waste?

All this figures in to the end cost.

Bottom line: your guess is as good as mine, but I'm not sure there is a huge demand for larger MF sensors.

We may see a square sensor again soon but it will likely be something like 48x48 (the old Kodak was 36x36 I think) I don't think we will ever see a 6x7 sized sensor.

48x48 is plenty. I'll start saving

I'd be happy if sensors maxed out at true 645 size.
