I use both , the ARCA CUBE and also the D4 geared head and still came exactly to the same point of decision as you .
The idea was to eventually replace the CUBE by a smaller or lighter device . The TRIOBAL Q6/8 . Very well made .

NOVOFLEX is only about 60 km away from where I live and they have a good showroom where you can look at and try out all their products . I did so .
First of all , what you still need for the TRIOBAL Q6/8 are the carbon legs .
And then , it turned out to be no different to an ungeared ball head . You need to hold the camera and level in two directions at the same time . That is why I originally turned away from a ballhead and got the CUBE .
I decided to keep my CUBE and D4 . Using GITZO tripods .

I have the tripod and leveling base but don't have the pano head. The tripod and leveling head are great. Easy to use, stable, and lightweight. Unscrewing one leg gives you an awesome monopod thereby eliminating the need to carry another piece of equipment. Very well made. It appears to be durable.

Hoping this helps.

I don't have that product from Novoflex, but I do have others.

For ball heads, I have their Magicball in a couple of sizes.

For Arca Swiss plate attachment, I have several of their Q-base units (brilliant spring loaded device).

These will likely not be appropriate if you are looking for indexing and precise, separate, adjustments on each of the three axes, but as a ball head and rock solid quick release, I have not found any better. Build quality is superb.

i sometimes throw their pano base between the Magicball and the Q-base.
