Exhibition in Head On Sydney

Hello all,

I hope that this message is permitted - apologies if not.

Each year, Sydney plays host to a large, high-profile photography festival called Head On. Lots of venues, competitions, media coverage, event guides, the lot.

This year, i have been lucky enough to have been accepted as an exhibitor. I have space in a gallery for four weeks, showing a selection of night sky images over Australian scenes. Mostly shot with my 645Z.

Here are details:

I'll be hosting a lunch/talk about the images as part of the event:

If any of you happen to be in Oz, please do come and take a peek! I'll try and be there when you're coming...

Wish me luck,
Ed

Congratulations Ed! Looks like a wonderful festival and your designated lecture & luncheon is right up my alley having had a long time interest in astrophotography combined with the natural landscape, although I rarely have pursued such images in a very long time. Wish they were giving out free airline tickets to Australia...I'd be there in a heartbeat.

Like so many other areas around the globe that have initiated or expanded photographic exhibitions into week(s) long festivals, some here in the States have been successful while others expanded too fast into trying to commercialize and obtain so much cooperate funding (and thus profit making), that eventually the dynamics and independent spirit of exhibiting photographic experimentation and expression in a wide variety of novel and inventive ways in captured images (along side the traditional fields of photography) waned. Thus the success of some of these festivals here unfortunately have shrunk.

Best of luck...you've posted some fantastic images!

Congratulations, Ed!! It's well deserved! I hope you get a lot of media coverage, become famous and still remember us, the little people.

Hi Ed,

I love you images, but it is zero chance I make it to Sydney any time soon.

Anyway, congratulations!

Best regards
Erik

Thanks everyone - I wish it were otherwise, but I really didn't expect many of you to be able to attend. The messages of encouragement are nonetheless tremendously appreciated :)

Wow, Ed, congratulations! I really admire your work.
It has been a few years since I have been here on the forum and I find your post a welcome sight. Only wish I could be there in person at the exhibit...
