I am fairly new to the system, I got my first X1D body in October, my backup body in December when I decided to move full-X1D and so far I have shot...
On the image quality issue, I think that there are differences between each camera / lens combinations in digital MF toady, of course, and - as many...
You are not the only one - I had high hopes for the S 007, kept it for about 6 months with a few lenses (24, 35, 70, 3-90mm) thinking they'd fix long...
In MF, I had the S 007, the Pentax 645Z before that, Pentax 645D before that, Leaf 12R before that, PhaseOne P65+, P45+ before that. Now, after three...
Musician by training and lifetime long photographer, I am a Formatt-Hitech Featured Artist, as well as Qualified Associate of the British Institute of Professional Photography (ABIPP) and European Photographer (EP). Between 2016 and 2018 I have been a Leica Ambassador and Leica Akademie Italy instructor; as well, I have been a Certified by Leica photographer from the start of the Certified program until December 2018, when I informed Leica of my decision of resigning and going my own way. Since April 2018, I am Artistic Director of “The Art of Landscape”, a project dedicated to Fine Art landscape photography I developed together with ImagOrbetello Photography Festival.
During a two-decades long career as a solo classical music artist, in the early 2000’s I started working as a professional photographer, photographing mostly musicians, from classical to rock and pop stars, and actors. My work has been published by Rolling Stones, Cosmo, Trendsetter and Abitare among others. As well, while living in Istanbul I intensely pursued my love for street photography, and it is my street work that got me my first solo exhibitions in Italy, Turkey and Finland.
In 2010, following a month-long trip to the Southwest USA, I fell in love with landscape photography. Leaving both people photography and music behind, I moved for good from interpreting a musical score to interpreting the world’s most spectacular landscapes through my camera. Combining my lifelong passion for photography with my love for nature and the wilderness, I decided to dedicate myself exclusively to Fine Art landscape photography and Fine Art printing. Since then, my Fine Art work has been published and exhibited internationally and is part of various private collections.
With 25 years of University teaching on my back, I firmly believe that Workshops are the best way to share my enthusiasm for photography and for the Earth’s beauty with like-minded people. My favourite destinations are Iceland, Scotland, Spain, England, the American Southwest, Turkey and, of course, Italy where I settled in 2014 after living 15 years abroad.
When I am not around the world photographing, teaching Workshops, lecturing or adjudicating competitions, I work on my photographs, prepare my Fine Art prints and write reviews and articles about photography. Most of all, I keep studying photography every day, amazed by what I still have to learn.
