Very impressive setup, Andree.

(and yes Steen, i'd looked into this some time ago and kinda remember the write off is in the same range as the D3X - if not more with all the accessories. Well, say quite discouraging for most of us :()

So brave all that trust in O rings and silicon sealant, or whatever is used these days. I remember once reading it's not if the water tightness fails but when.
Great images and well done and as I said So brave.

Good Morning guys :)
thanks for all the comments. Talking about the equipment, i guess you are right David, I really put all my trust to the O-Ring and the housing :D
It really sound crazy... even when i think of it, Yes It's Really crazy >_<
btw, I want to another picture.
It's a skeleton Shrimp!
this skeleton shrimp is very tiny, the size of it's body is only as thick as a human hair.
the height is about 0,5 cm only.
I was very lucky to photograph this creature.

Question : is the red line on it's body is the blood vein ??

Andre,

As so many other members have said, your photographs are both beautiful and amazing. I can't even imagine how difficult it must be to dive (in the first place), handle the camera plus flash units, get close enough without disturbing the creatures, frame the shot, set the ambient/flash exposure correctly, and expose at precisely the right moment. Let alone co-ordinate all those parameters so that the result is a wonderful, compelling picture. Amazing! Thank you for sharing the results with us.

Hi Andree:

Very impressive photographs. You made a comment about not knowing who might want to publish your photographs. This got me thinking about a person who I had known about because of my interest and ownership of Bengal cats. It took me sometime to search for him and found it. Here is the link:

http://echeng.com/photo/

He is the editor of wetpixel. Eric is a young chinese and very talented with computers / software. If I recall, he started a company and in a few years sold his company and now very involved in underwater photography. Hope this helps you to get your photos published.

Reminds me 20 years ago, I soak my Nikon FM with the 24mm, leak in the housing :(
The body didn't survive but the lens did, I sold it to a professional photographer, my retailer actually, who sent the lens to Nikon. It came back untouched ... and rock solid stiff. So I took my screw drivers.... to screw it up a bit more. Then he proposed me to send it to a friend of his working in the army workshop. Came back reported "caput".
Then I found a small guy reparing photo gear, I explained him over the phone then sent to him. It came back working perfectly.... then my retailer bought the lens and still use it today !!!

With electronic today even lenses won't survive.
