What does a D3 shutter look like

On YouTube you can see what a Nikon D3 mirror / shutter and aperture blades action looks like at 11 files per second when captured in slow motion video.

I snapped a few shots of the shutter (during one action) from the video. Here they are:

Kind of amazing that the thing lasts for 200,000+ shutter operations really. Interesting to see the shock wave pass up the shutter assembly too.

OTOH when you see a high fps video of the chaos engendered at the organs and muscles level of a human body by a moderate sneeze... or simply taking the subway... you wonder how one can possibly survive a one station ride.

Not even talking about the insides of a pneumatic drill operator in action :eek:

The technological age definitely gives us sometimes a perception larger than life.
