    Histograms Aperture3 and Help!

    Hey...

Any of you experts out here using Aperture 3? I'm finding a discrepency between what is showing up on my camera's histogram and what shows up in Aperture.

I'm finding an OK histogram in camera results in a photo that is under exposed by at least a full stop. Any ideas?

I use a D3/D700 and always shoot RAW. I'm wondering if there is something I'm doing wrong.

That's the Aperture camera profiles talking there. Aperture has several built-in camera profiles that tweak the image for conversion. It really helps to user a color-calibrated monitor.

What are your camera settings? Is this happening with all of your lenses or just one in particular?

    Carlos,

Thanks for the reply. I have a color profiled (yes I know it's different) Apple 20" cinema monitor.

I have both cameras set to RAW, 14bit, and STD for the color. It seems to happen with any lens, but I'm not 100% sure on that one.

I thought the Aperture color profiles were for jpgs?

It's under RAW Fine Tuning on the Adjustments Tab. I believe if you are seeing a consistent -1 stop of exposure, you can dial in the compensation +1 and make it a preset.
