Afternoon test session with the S5. Cool, cloudy weather, but that didn't seem to affect these guys.

Jorgen, the Hot Dogs are extremely impressive. Really.
On the technical side, are you happy of the details you get from the combo @ larger file size?

(the pink suit's nice photographically speaking, though subject wise i must admit being partial to Steve's blondes )

Thank you Corlan and Rayyan. I'll return with more information about my experience after this day of testing. I can say that I'm rather satisfied though.

Nice coffee, Corlan. Very simplistic and clean.

Re: The New and Improved Fun with Nikon Images!

Come closer Hamza, said the faint and frail voice.

Hamza looked around. There was nobody and nothing. Stones, Hamza and his grandpa.

I am afraid, said Hamza..looking up to me.

Don't be afraid Hamza, come closer, sit next to me; said the gentle voice.

Grandpa, said Hamza. I can hear the voice, but I can't see anyone. I am afraid.

You are brave Hamza. Very brave. Said the voice.

Even the bravest of Macedonia and Athena dare not approach me, said the
voice very softly. Even Zeus and Apollo would not approach me.

Hamza, you are here. The voice said. You are next to me. Only the bravest
of the brave dare to enter this place. But you Hamza, said the voice slowly
have the honor to sit next to me.

Where am I? Who are you? asked Hamza frightened but brave.

I, my child, said the old female voice gently am the Oracle.

The Oracle of Delphi, the Temple of Apollo, The Sun God, Under Mt. Olympus
    the mountain of the gods.

I, said the voice, shall tell you about things..the past, the present and the future. Your grandpa has asked me to tell you. I told him and I shall tell you.

Hamza looked around. Only stones. But they were alive.

My child, said the Oracle, I am old and weak. I cannot see anymore. My memory is failing. It has been thousands of years since anyone spoke to me. Except your grandpa. Thousands of years since I spoke to any human.

I shall speak one more time, Hamza. And never again. So listen carefully.

Let your grandpa sleep. He always sleeps here. I shall tell you about things
    starting from that place..

Thousands of years from that time to your time people copy those structures
and follow the man from there. They believe the edifices shall give them power.

They shall make the same mistakes the man from Macedonia made.
    Who? asked Hamza.

The son of Philip II King of Macedonia, Athena, Sparta. The general of the
greatest civilization know to man. The birthplace of democracy.

They shall follow Alexander of Macedonia into battle. Then and thousands of years from then.

Hamza is fortunate indeed... to have a conversation with the Oracle, certainly, but much more so to have such a grandfather.

Re: The New and Improved Fun with Nikon Images!

The Oracle at Delphi had spoken.

Hamza was afraid, crying, confused all at the same time.

I know grandapa, he said. I know it all. Alexander and all the others.
Same thing. Same places grandpa. Same.

Hamza ran away to hide his tears from me.

Rayyan, said the voice, isn't it early?

No, I said. I too am old.
Very old, I said. There might not be another time. I looked towards Hamza.

Sit next to me Rayyan, said the voice. Maybe this is the last time we meet.

Will you help me one more time, said the faint voice. Of course, I said.

I took out my face towel and dryed the wetness around the stone. As I had done many times before.

Teach him well Rayyan. Teach him well. Teach him to hear the stones.

Rayyan, I heard my name called very weakly. Turned around. There was no sound. The voice had gone silent. The Temple at Delphi was quiet.

I had passed the Baton into safe hands. My job was nearly done.

It was Hamza's turn now. To run with the Baton. I knew he would.

Hamza, let's go son. I had come with a child. I was leaving with a man.

In Canon forums, there are discussions about back focus all the time. Finally, I have a lens that can do that on a Nikon as well

Just back from a week-long trip to the western Black Sea region and, as expected, upon returning, found marvelous shots here.
One thing puzzled me though; I can see Rayyan's posts, but no images whatsoever. All shots by other contributors appear normally, but Rayyan's posts only contain his texts - which are also fabulous - but no images.

Steve, Lloyd,Jorgan, John, Osman: Thanks you guys.

John, I do not know the guy. Was waiting for someone to walk into the frame.
    This was it.

Osman: Welcome back. Beautiful part of Turkey. My hosting site is down for maintenance. I too will start some house cleaning on my site. So things could
    get really weird!!!

Anyway..The folks here are far more generous than the quality of my photos. Honestly.

Jorgen: Glorious. What a way to start my day. One of the best my friend.
The focus is easy to fix. Increase the depth..dof that is.

Jorgen, very useful tests on the TC... but let's talk about that in the other thread.

Rayyan: interesting, poetic viewpoint on Delphi. The images are back, and they're great. The portrait shot is indeed three dimensional and intriguing.
(agent note: you should save some material for the upcoming book, though)

Jason: like the darker, analog feel on this one. A very adequate look and processing, suits the subject, expression and composition extremely well. Very good, compelling photo.

Steve: the blue flowers series plays in the creamiest bokek and smoothest light category. All nice, with incredible details, but #3 (and #4) with the contrasting, softly reflecting silver and the dark background are fantastic.
    All handheld?
