Really nice Leif. And I think they're only really appreciated in the large view. Great b/w too.

No, I have all the photos I post at the gallery here. Here's the syntax:

But it's the same wherever the image is hosted.

Excellent day for a hike. A sweater, some water and dates, D700+ zf 50/2+polarizer, hiking stick.

Fresh, clean, minty mountain air.

p.s now where did I park my car!!!

Now that's a gorgeous scene! Great shot. (And a great combo... so is this the decision from the thread you started?)

Lloyd, if you mean to rent a car...definitely

Re: the 35 vs 50 is still undecided. Wonder why I bought the M8 and lenses.

Take care.
p.s nothing like watching all those folk hike while having hot bagels with cream cheese and salmon. Down it with latte. If you
cross into another country, pick up a few croissants and a baguette!! That is a holiday.

I agree with Lloyd (as usual). Besides being an interesting shot, it reminds me of something I read in a Chinese woman's short book comparing Chinese and American culture. At one point she says that "Americans should learn how to squat". The photo shows a couple of professional-level squatters. My knees hurt just looking at them.

Perfect shot, perfect place. Never mind the car; they make new ones every second. A scenery like this takes a million years to make.

Beauty Contest...?

The Royal Mail issued a new set of stamps yesterday, featuring famous British steam locomotives. They decided to do a publicity shoot incorporating the world's newest steam locomotive (LYD - steamed on 5 August) and the men who built her...

Attachment 34419

I wasn't doing the shoot myself - just taking the opportunity to grab a few shots for the FR Magazine whist chaperoning the pro hired by the GPO.

We were both shooting at the same time, he was using fill-in flash, I wasn't. But I got the benefit of his flash on one shot... How about that for timing!

That has been discussed, and sooner or later, it will happen.

There's an interesting (American) story behind Pizza Company. The owner, Bill Heinecke, had the franchise for Pizza Hut in Thailand, starting the first restaurant in 1980. Around ten years ago, when Pizza Hut became greedy and wanted a larger piece of the cake, it took him one month to change all restaurants to Pizza Company. Pizza Hut then had an 80% market share. Now they are fighting for a share of the 30% that is left after Pizza Company's 70%.

Mr. Heinecke, a Thai Citizen since 1991, also owns the franchises for Swensen's, Sizzler, Dairy Queen and Burger King through Minor Food Group as well as a few hotels in the region (Four Seasons, Marriott Resort & Spa and Anantara). It's an impressive story, and although they mostly sell junk food (my definition), it's high quality junk. Even I eat at Burger King occasionally, but if you see me at McDonald's, you know the end is near
Jorgen: Thank you for the follow-up. Well, we're all on the same sinking ship. Burma (Myanmar) built a new capital to get away from the people. Probably be attractive to the Thai Government, also.

Jorgen: Great portraits, love the moto shot... very kewl, and the "Pole Position", well, er, yes indeed.
Tim: I'm happy for your dog as well. Nicely captured, btw.
John: That was some great timing. And some very nice, and very interesting shots.
Rayyan: Wonderful light, striking color, and a cute, albeit guilty look.
Hey Tim: "Memories", Hmm... the 60s... yes, I probably should remember them too, but...

Ok, ok... I take the hint. No more revealing outfits. Only serious motorsport shots from now on... and staff members, properly dressed

Jorgen,

By the way, Jorgen. That's a beautiful image, and a beautiful girl, but I swear she looks like she's 13 years old.

She's very beautiful, and probably makes good money looking like that, appearing at car races, exhibitions, sales promotions etc. as a "pretty girl" (or "pittie", as they are called here). I've taken photos of her before, but this is the first time I've caught her "off guard". That was a grab shot if there ever was one. Notice the little pink thing in the lower left corner? That's a small electric fan to keep cool, since sweat will make her makeup runny. As for her age, one can never be sure, but she's probably around 20.

Jorgen: Good grab! I first though she was a contestant in a teenage beauty pageant with the tiara. They look like that over here (based on TV, not personal experience); 13 going on 20. Cheers, Matt
