Steve: Thanks and a nice evening

Jørgen: Thanks a lot; hm, seems, that sometimes "quick & dirty" PP works better than long-winded fiddling about

    Hi guys,

First: Lloyd a belated but sincere best wishes to your wonderful mother on her birthday. May she be with you and yours for a long time to come in health and happiness.

Too many super pics. Excellent work folks.

    Steve for recreating nostalgia.
Matt for his cyclists and Seattle/Pike Market. Yes Matt, I saw the snowfall too!
Jorgen, bringing Thailand to us in vivid color and shape/s!!!
Hermann for the masterful cemetery series and street shots. The last one of the snowfall in Munich old cemetery is gorgeous.

    To all of you

A very simple capture of a simple woman lighting the flame. Simple flame for some. The very essence of life for others.

Hermann, your first photo here one reminds me of your previous cafe shot. Similar brilliance and super bw.

The second is so sympathetic and lovely bw.

    Excellent.

Honestly, it's a great pleasure for me you like them and apparently are able to relate to their "content" (e.g. ref. to the second one).

    Rayyan, you have lost it.

    Lost what?

You are only doing landscapes, buildings and the like. And that too badly.Your fire has gone out it seems. Not like before. The zest, the hunting spirit is dead within you. The Rayyan factor, as your friends call it, was a myth. The flame burns no more.

    It has to be lit.

    What has to be lit?

The fire. The flame. It needs a spark. Life. Something mysterious, seemingly unattainable, promise of excitement. Sense of some danger, some thrill. The thrill of the chase, the approach. The contact. Some competition. The chase has to be worth it.

Excuses, excuses. You have lost it Rayyan.

Maybe Ayesha, maybe just. But remember, myths always have some basis of truth. Baby, somebody or something has to light my fire.

A little spark is all it needs.

A couple from my father's 85th birthday party this past weekend. I didn't count them, but I'm told there actually were 85 candles.

There's a car exhibition going on in Bangkok at the moment, one of the two annual shows. It's very crowded, and difficult to get to the cars sometimes. You can see two of them on the left and right sides of this photo. This must be the section for white cars... cars, c - a - r - s, ok?

Re: The New and Improved Fun with Nikon Images!

They had a red car as well. Sorry for that person obscuring the view. I believe it must be a mechanic or something. Probably a problem with the windscreen wiper. These Italian cars are a bit unreliable, you know.

    D300 with Tamron 17-50 @ 20mm and f/4.0

These were both taken with that useless onboard flash, but I hope you can figure out what's in the photos anyway

Ummm... thank you. I've heard that with CS5, it's easy to remove people and other objects that obscure the view. Do you think this is the reason I need to upgrade???

Yes! Might help get that ugly red background out of the latest shot you posted.

Great stuff in here. As usual, I might add. Lloyd, I really love the image of your father blowing the candles. I need to start shopping for candles myself. My old mother turns 85 in February.

Hermann, your images made want to go back to Spain! Lovely.

Around here we donīt have much more than winter on offer. Report from the woods here - at -16 C today. My son and Rulle.

LOL. I can take a while to accumulate so many candles.

Nice shots. Looks like a blue wax day, at least!

Yes, now that I think about it, I believe you're right. And I always bow to the expertise of skiers from Norge!
