Rayyan: Great frame in a frame. Colors, balance with the column and the opening...masterful.

S5Pro / 50mm/ SB800 in small softbox close to the face/ BW conversion in Aperture 3.
Emmawest: Striking face and portrait. Nice B&W and "looking up" works here.

Some more from my quick, pre-work, stop yesterday morning.
Lloyd: All favorites here! The second is most appealing to me at the moment. The grass, the bokeh, and the warm similar hued colors are great. :salute:

Cheers, Matt

Matt: Now what lens is that?

A story here Matt, and how to do it!!

The first pic is excellent for its angle of view
as it shows the cabby and the environment within their context. The colors
have been rendered very nicely.

The second photo brings us closer, getting us nearer to the point of interest.

The third and final one, which I think is beautiful, is what it is all about.

A photo essay, excellently executed and presented.:thumbup:

A couple from the Pike Place Market. Not your usual tourist with a point-n-shoot. The President was in town, maybe, he tagged along? Cheers, Matt

These are terrific Matt. And for in-camera jpgs especially. (Gonna have to find me that lens. I have the 17-55/2.8, but this 17-50 is obviously much better. :D)

Matt: Wonderful PJ, as others have mentioned. I love the composition of the photog. Wonderful.

Even more so is the super horse. What a look!

Rayyan: Beautiful photograph! Well framed and harmonious colors. Is the multi-colored distortion reflected in the window a result of old glass?

Matt: Now what lens is that?

Rayyan/Lloyd/Steve: Thank you, gentlemen. :D

I strayed and not even to Zeiss. It's a Sigma 17-50mm F2.8 EX DC 0S (APS-C). I looked at Nikon's offerings and thought this was newer tech, faster, and better built then their low and mid-priced DX lenses. A lot cheaper then the 17-55mm f/2.8 ED-IF AF-S DX Nikkor.

The cabby didn't seem very busy. You really have to be a tourist to want to ride that around Seattle's downtown. Although, we did it at Christmas once to look at the lights.

Cheers, Matt

Here's a quick one pretty much right out the camera from an E shoot last weekend.

D3 16-35 at 21mm, f4, 1/250th ISO 100 w/ fill flash.. or really blinding strobe since I was shooting into the sun :D

D3 70-200 at 200mm, f2.8, 1/1600th ISO 100 Was dodging taxi's and cars in the middle of the street below them... worth it!!
