the 135/2 DC on the Df.. I can't help it: I love this combo, the colours seems to me soft, gentle, intriguing and exquisite, and handling is nam-nam too..
for the time being just shot at f2 without any defocus aplied...f4 would be sharper and perhaps with some frontdefocus added, perhaps might.. but..

The color palette of the Df processed with C1 is spectacular IMHO. Combined with legacy lenses, it does impart some special magic into the images. It's hard to describe, but to my eyes it's a classic, very high quality sort of "hollywood production" film look for lack of better explanation... Most of the older metal-bodied spatter-paint finished Nikkor lenses will render this look. (I have the 105DC, 180/2.8 and 28/1.4 and they all render this way.)

Thank you very much Jack! and for the spot on and painterly description. Nice to hear that you have been taken too! This ought to spread amongst people, especially now when Nikon need peoples gear-buying
I bought the spatter-finished 180/2.8 too, and it’s a long time since I have got this Christmas feeling in the summertime.
For only 1.000 USD you get this all new direct from the factory and "live-dealer", fine fine leathercase, lined with red velvet with that wonderful full-metal-glass-lens
sorry for the Fuji-jpegs here, just to illustrate from my happy mood

    sorry a Fuji X-T2 16mm jpg

    another Fuji-sorry

but back to the 135 DC - Df mood, helped on its way by C1 (sorry: it was hasty taken and focus perhaps more hit the shoulder than the face..but anyway)

    Re: Fun with Nikon Images

I just bought a new 180/2.8 AF-D myself today. Look forward to using it on my D700, F6 etc.

Need to send my 180/2.8 Ai (non-ED) lens in for a CLA.

Do you still have a D800/D800E/D810? I'd love to see some side-by-side examples!!!

    Hi Jan,

Yes indeed -- I have the Df and the D810. Gimme a few and I'll try to get something worthwhile up

    Re: Fun with Nikon Images

Just added a new lens to my bag, the Sigma 30mm f1.4 Art, and was lucky enough to get a break from the clear, sunny weather yesterday. So far I am quite happy with this lens, it has limits but it's easy enough to work within them. Sigma got me hooked on the focal length with their DP2 series. All captured with the D500...
